Legendary Argolida is the ancient center of Greece and Europe. Argolida attracts lovers of rocky mountains and quiet coves, and also people, who are interested in mythology, archeology and history of ancient Mycenaean culture. On the territory of Argolida are very interesting archaeological monuments that you must visit. Epidaurus, which was known in ancient times thanks to the God of healing sanctuaries Asclepius. There is a well- preserved theater 4th cent. B.C. with excellent acoustics, where in summer are concerts and theater performances. The ancient city of Mycenae with the famous Lion Gates and the domed tomb. Tiryns, where by the myths Hercules lived. Nafplion the first capital of independent Greece. Ancient Lerna, where according to the legend, Hercules fought and defeated the Lernaean Hydra. In front of the city is the island Bourtzi, in it’s harbor Venetians in 15th cent. build a castle. We will visit the fortress Acronafplia – Palamidi, which is build on Byzantine foundations, at the foot of the fortress are the tiled roofs of the old town. Sandy beaches of Argolida located along the coast of Argolic and Saronic gulfs, one of them Karathona striking for it’s natural beauty.
